Rider FAQs

Detailed answers about independent rider opportunities, shopping, reimbursement, delivery earnings and eligibility.

What does an Onwayy rider do?

An eligible independent rider accepts an app request, chooses a suitable legitimate retailer, buys the authorised products as the customer’s limited purchasing agent and delivers them with the required evidence.

Do I have to accept every delivery?

No. You choose whether to accept, reject or ignore offers and when to make yourself available. Rejecting or ignoring offers, or remaining unavailable, will not cause a penalty, adverse account standing, reduced platform access or algorithmic downgrading of future offers. Once you accept an order, you must fulfil its obligations or contact support promptly if you cannot do so.

Does Onwayy guarantee work?

No. There are no guaranteed hours, delivery opportunities or minimum earnings. Riders operate as independent/self-employed contractors, subject to the rights and obligations that apply in law and practice.

Can I work for competitors?

Yes. There is no exclusivity requirement. Other work must not prevent you fulfilling an accepted request safely or complying with customer-data duties.

What do I see before accepting?

The delivery postcode, approximate distance, order size or item count and exact delivery earning. Relevant restricted-product information is shown where applicable. The full address is released after required purchase evidence is uploaded.

Who chooses the retailer?

You choose a suitable legitimate retailer based on the products, expected stock, location, opening hours and practical fulfilment. It need not be an Onwayy merchant or partner. A suitable supermarket is encouraged during normal opening hours where practical; a suitable open local retailer may be used later.

Do I use my own money for the shopping?

Yes. Use your own lawful funds or payment method to purchase authorised goods within approved limits and obtain the retailer receipt or required purchase evidence.

How does reimbursement work?

Onwayy verifies eligible shopping expenditure. After required purchase and delivery evidence is submitted and approved, approved reimbursement and delivery earning are paid together. Reimbursement returns shopping expenditure; it remains separate from earnings even in a combined transfer.

How is my delivery earning shown?

The exact earning is displayed before acceptance. Onwayy does not deduct an additional Onwayy commission afterwards. Your own operating costs and tax responsibilities remain separate.

How quickly are payouts processed?

The operational target is approximately 2 hours after required evidence has been submitted and approved. It is not a guarantee of bank receipt within that time. Verification, banking, payment processing, fraud checks and technical issues can cause delays.

Can I spend above the authorised limit?

Not without approval through the relevant app process. Internal spending permission may differ from the customer’s agreed Onwayy product price. If an authorised purchase cannot be made, follow substitution or unavailable-item rules rather than collecting extra money from the customer.

Can I cancel after accepting?

Contact support promptly, explain your progress and purchases, and follow safe reassignment or return instructions. Do not abandon goods or mark an uncompleted delivery complete. Genuine safety concerns take priority.

Can another person complete an order for me?

You may choose a substitute who has completed the required checks and meets the applicable age, identity, right-to-work, insurance, vehicle and product requirements before accepting or carrying out an order. Onwayy will not unreasonably withhold or delay eligibility confirmation. Use the authorised substitute-access process so the order records who is performing it. Do not lend your account to an unverified person or share credentials outside that process.

What insurance do I need?

Maintain insurance legally required for your actual delivery activity and vehicle, including appropriate delivery or hire-and-reward cover where applicable. Ordinary personal vehicle insurance may not cover paid deliveries. Confirm cover with your insurer.

Do I need to wear Onwayy clothing?

No. Onwayy-branded clothing and equipment are not required. Your own equipment must still be clean, suitable, lawful and safe.

How do restricted-product deliveries work?

Use a lawful retailer, apply Challenge 25 and all required product-specific checks, and hand restricted products only to the verified registered account holder. They cannot be left unattended or given to another adult.

What happens if the customer fails a required ID check?

Refuse the restricted handover, record the actual outcome and contact support for lawful return and handling instructions. If you correctly apply Challenge 25 and the customer cannot provide the required valid, accepted photographic identification establishing their eligibility, Onwayy guarantees the full Delivery Fee shown and accepted for that order under the Rider Terms. Eligible shopping reimbursement remains separate. Do not mark a failed handover as completed or obtain a completion PIN for it. Other failed deliveries are assessed under the Rider Terms.

Can customers pay me directly?

Order payments and supported additions or tips are administered through the app. Do not collect direct extra payment to bypass the platform, spending limits or restricted-product rules.

Who is responsible for my tax?

You are responsible for tax, National Insurance and reporting obligations applicable to your circumstances. Keep accurate records of earnings, reimbursements and expenses and obtain suitable advice if needed.

Where is Onwayy launching?

Initial areas include selected parts of Birmingham, Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, Wolverhampton, Congleton, Crewe and Stone, Staffordshire. Opportunities depend on postcode coverage, rider eligibility and operating conditions. Applying does not guarantee onboarding or work.

How is my right to work checked?

You must complete the required identity, age and right-to-work checks before accepting or carrying out orders. The lawful checking route depends on your circumstances and the rules in force. Onwayy will explain the required process and any appropriate alternative. The same eligibility safeguards apply to substitutes.

What if restricted goods cannot be returned?

Keep them secure and seek specific support instructions. You must not keep them for personal use, consume them, give them away or resell them. The terms authorise disposal only where a lawful retailer return is impossible and continued retention presents an immediate public health and safety risk. Both conditions and the specific lawful support instructions must be satisfied. A failed ID check or inconvenience alone does not permit disposal.
